D | Museum of Durham History

Overview

The Museum of Durham History’s smaller scale space allows for intimate exhibits that uses stories about people, places and things to foster curiosity and promote an understanding of diverse perspectives about the Durham community and its history. McKissick was a national civil rights leader who called Durham home and whose contributions were as significant as those of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X in the 1960s. The exhibit received lots of attention and has been resized and installed in several different Durham locations.
